Got this smoker/grill for father's day, and I love it. It is versatile - you can grill, roast, and BBQ (smoke) equally well with it. Whereas some other smokers will only BBQ. This is the first smoker that I've owned and it is easy to control the temperature. I've made some fantastic BBQ chicken and brisket. I'll be making more.

good value. Large grilling area.

The fire grate has 4 height positions to adjust temperature for direct grilling. It's easy to dump out the ashes.

For roasting, there is plenty of room to put a large drip pan on one side. I've roasted some spectacular chicken this way.

For BBQ (smoking) start a fire in the side-firebox, and add a split log or 5-6 wood chunks an hour. I use a remote thermometer to watch the temperature from inside the house. I thought that was ridiculous at first, but when your BBQ-ing a brisket for 12 hrs, it frees you up to make side dishes in the kitchen, or watch the Gators pound the Seminoles, while your cooking. The temperature is easy to control with the vents and the smokestack cover.

shorcomings: assembly is a chore. thinner gauage metal flakes outer paint sooner than a heavier pit would. Thermometer is not especially reliable, but you'll probably want a remote thermometer if you are going to be BBQ-ing for 12 hrs anyway.

The grill also provides a taller lid profile with a center-mounted thermometer, Grill Out handle light, and large weather-resistant handle. Even more, the unit supplies two removable folding worktables with tool hooks, and it bolts onto the included stationary cart, which offers rolling wheels for smooth mobility and a screen to hide the propane tank.  Originally planned on gettin' the Weber Summit S-320 but at $980 (the cost of livin' in paradise), it was pricey enough to give pause. Decided on the Q 300 when I realized that I would only be cookin' for a dozen at most. Locally, the Q 300 was priced at $377. When I discovered that Amazon had the upgraded 300 series for $18 less, I jumped at the opportunity. And $0.01 shipping - 2 day FedEx no less - made it a sweeter deal.

This compact grill heats faster and cooks better than any $300 big box model, even if said model is rated at > 40,000 btu and the Q 320 is "only" 21,700 btu. Sears steaks and veges like no one's business and also does great roasting with the burners turned down. A snap to assemble (no cussing required) and also pleasing to the eye.

If you're looking for your 1st grill, get the Q 320. If you're looking for a replacement grill, get the Q 320. If don't need a grill but have $359.01 lying around, get the Q 320.
