Have tried many brands in order to grill inside when it's just too plain hot to fire up the outdoor one. Bought this at Costco for a good price, so didn't have much to lose. Cured it before use as directed and placed it on our cooktop beneath the exhaust fan. Gambled on marinated tuna for the first cooking and were astounded at the great results. Used the griddle to fry bacon and eggs and grilled fresh brats; loved the grill marks on the meat. This unit has a "sear" setting to seal in the juices and doesn't drain every tiny bit of fat off like the George Foreman design. It's a breeze to clean as well because of the non-stick coating. It works so well I just ordered a second one for our vacation home!

4.0 out of 5 stars big surface, April 23, 2011

First of all, we bought this yesterday at Costco for $49.99. Grilled chicken breasts inside. Did create quite a bit of smoke that we had to open the windows and back door. Nice temp though and clean up was ok. Just do it while the grill is hot. Don't let the food dry on, it will be harder to clean. We may use it in the garage next time we grill meat. Pancakes are next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Non-Commercial Griddle, February 1, 2012
This review is from: Wolfgang Puck 1800 Watt Reversible Nonstick Grill and Griddle with Collapsible Splashguard
I just bought this griddle at costco for only $39. I own a small coffee shop with no hood in the kitchen so am limited to the size and style griddle I can use. Over the past 2 years I have gone through 4 griddles (this being the 5th). I have had 2 $35 Presto griddles, 1 $110 Broil King, and 1 $20 Rival. The Broil King was the best of them as far as maintaining heat and more even heating across the entire griddle, however, it didn't last any longer than the Prestos. The problem is with the thermostats, they go on all of these in a matter of a few months (griddle is on 325 for 8 or 9 hours per day, 6 days a week at my shop).
It remains to be seen how long the thermostat will last on this WP griddle, but so far it blows away all of the others including the Broil King when it comes to consistent, even heat. Also, the non-stick surface seems to be better than any of the others. I've been using it for approx 2 weeks now and so far it seems to be the same perfect temperature... Read more
