How to Control Grill Temperature.

The most important aspect of grilling and barbecuing is to learn to control the temperature of the grill. Enter the amount of charcoal in a grill that you think you might need. For grilling, it could be half of what you would normally take seriously. A better way to have a charcoal fire with a paper towel dipped in cooking oil, they will act as a wick.

When the coal is at least half the light that you can start putting them on top of the pile of coal, spread evenly throughout. Promoting greater airflow by opening vents and the lid is fully open it. If you want the temperature to 250 degrees, you will begin to temps about 200 degrees higher than the target you're looking for, the more lead time you need to slow down the heat that is generated. For example, if you're going to use your oven is called "indirect grilling," put food on the grill opposite the fire, do not open and close the lid. When cooking, turn off all the vents and put the lid on. You may be surprised by how little charcoal, you need to cook this way. I hope this will save you some food from the tank to burn. Now get cooking.
